Fudge—Maple—Candied Citrus

Since 2011, Highwire has commemorated the holiday season with a curated blend that we call Celebration.

With this year's blend, we are focusing the flavor around a coffee that has been a workhorse for us in 2023, a mechanically washed coffee from Costa Rica's COOPEDOTA, located in the town of Santa Maria de Dota. As the backbone to our espresso, The Core, for the past several months, this coffee from Santa Maria de Dota brings fudgy sweetness and depth to the blend.

To help fill out the mid-range, we added a recently arrived coffee from the Nebilyer Valley in Papua New Guinea. Coffees from the Western Highlands of PNG have made it into several of our blends over the years, and this year's offering sweetly spicy, with a great maple characteristic.

Finally, to add some warm brightness, we've included an accent of peaberry from the Rumukia Farmers Cooperative Society in Kenya's Nyeri county.  This densely flavorful coffee adds an element of candied citrus to the blend that helps balance out the heavier sweetness of the other coffees.
