OUR COFFEE BAGS

WE MAKE THE COFFEES WE LOVE.
We don't think in terms of dark or light - there's more to it than that.
OUR SWEET SPOT IS BALANCE.
The signature of the farmer in balance with that of the roaster. Brightness and body in balance with each other. Big. Complete. Satisfying.

SPRING 2019 - NEW COFFEE BAGS

We recently revisited our coffee bags and decided it was time for a refresh. We saw things about the bags that we love and that still resonate - like our art and the fact that the bag is compostable (just toss the tin tie, valve and label). Other parts of the bag didn’t feel like our best shot. More than anything we wanted to do a better job speaking to our coffee and what we care about. We hoped to let you into our heads a bit more. We’re so excited to have broadened our community this last year, but we know there’s a lot of people that unfortunately we don’t connect with face to face. We think the new bags not only look a bit more pulled together, but say more about our values.  Maybe we’re growing up. We’re so proud and hope you find even more to love besides the great coffee inside.

BLENDS

We’re doing a better job telling the story of our beans. The blend bags share how we approach blending and why we love these coffees so much. There are also new three-word flavor descriptors that help people quickly decide what sounds tasty to them.

The art and bags were originally designed by former Rockridge barista / designer extraordinaire, Katie Miller. We’re thankful that Katie was good enough to tackle this update for us as well.

SINGLE ORIGINS

“Fingerprints” is the name of our Single Origin collection of coffees. It is a reference to the fact that every cup of coffee has the signatures - or fingerprints - of many people.  Especially the farmer and the roaster. The farmer determines the potential of this cup based on their decisions of what varietal to plant, how to care for their plants, when and how carefully to harvest and sort, etc. The roaster is all about seeing and realizing the potential through its development during roasting. When these are in balance, you have Highwire's sweet spot. Balance.

We’re so happy to do a better job telling people why we do what we do. We hope you will be too.
