Celebration 2025

Toward the end of every year, Highwire creates a special blend to celebrate the season.

Celebration 2025 brings together two spectacular coffees: a returning favorite from the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea and a new-to-us coffee from the Huatusco region in the Mexican state of Veracruz. In a year that's been incredibly challenging from a coffee sourcing perspective, these lucky finds speak to the resiliency and resourcefulness we've needed throughout 2025. And with the hard work done, now it's time to party!

Bringing a complex mixture of fruit and sweet/savory spiciness, we found a peaberry lot from the Kuta Mill in the Wahigi Valley of Western Papua New Guinea. Year after year, we look for coffees from this region for their unique flavor characteristics. Even smelling the green coffee, you can sense the bouquet of flavors that show up in the final cup.

We're complementing the complexity of this PNG with a Mexican coffee from the Huatusco region of Veracruz. This particular region is especially wet and cold throughout the harvest season, slowing maturation and adding depth to the flavor.

Together these coffees create a perfect holiday duet that is both expressive and balanced. We're roasting these coffees ever-so-slightly darker than The Core, but lighter than the Shadow Play, finding a sweet spot where the flavors stand out, but with enough roast to satisfy those looking for a heartier cup.
